And then there were two.
In the beginning we presented you with 32 of the summer’s hottest celebrities, 16 men and 16 women, and put the task of crowing a King and a Queen of the hot season in your hands. The votes have been counted and the results are in.
So who in Hollywood truly had the best summer?Your King and Queen of Summer 2010: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
(Wow. Original, you guys. Really original.)Now, several factors helped propel each member of this duo into the top spots.
Not only did they kinda come out as a couple this summer via a very grainy photo, they appeared in Eclipse, one of the year’s biggest box-office hits. And they both were filming high profile “next step” movies, Water for Elephants and On the Road.
With those events supporting them, they each did away easily with their compettion to meet at the top.
In the final round, Robert Downey Jr.’s charms proved no match for Rob’s. The veteran actor was sent packing after receiving only 31.3 percent of the vote to Pattinson’s 68.7. Likewise, Kristen ended final challenger Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream domination, grabbing 61.6 percent to Perry’s 38.4.
Here’s to the winners—and everybody else who gave it a shot.
Better luck in 2011, OK? Rob & Kristen don’t have much going on next summer…

London, June 8 (ANI): Twilight star Kristen Stewart has pipped Carey Mulligan and Michelle Williams to land the title of ‘best young actress in the world.’
Courtesy her role as Bella Swan in the vampire series, the 20-year-old has topped a LoveFilm.com survey to find the favourite female screen star under 30, reports The Daily Star.
Brokeback Mountain star Williams came second, while Alice in Wonderland newcomer Mia Wasikowska was voted third.
Mulligan landed fourth place and Mamma Mia! actress Amanda Seyfried rounded out the top five.

Her impressive, gritty performance as Joan Jett in The Runaways suggests that she does – it’s enough to make even Bella-beaters reassess – and Sundance reviews for her turn as a lap dancer in Welcome to the Rileys were equally convincing. A source involved with Stewart’s independent film, “Welcome to the Rileys“, which was well received at the Sundance Film Festival, tells The Dish Rag exclusively there could be a Best Actress Oscar campaign planned for Stewart’s role as a troubled young stripper/hooker. And her female costar, Melissa Leo, previously nominated for Best Actress for her 2008 role in “Frozen River” may get an O campaign for Best Supporting Actress. “Rileys” was picked up by Bob Berney‘s Apparition at the festival in January, after fans blast Tweeted distributors like Sony Classics and The Weinstein Co begging them to pick up the film.
After Apparition snagged it, Sony Worldwide Distribution came in to distribute the film in the US, in exchange for the hefty estimated $7 million cost of P and A (prints and advertising). There was
early festival buzz about a Best Supporting nod for Stewart but now that has changed to Best Actress.
The film has an impressive pedigree. Along with the Emmy winning Gandolfini, there’s Ridley Scott and his brother Tony, Steve Zallian among the big name producers. The “Sopranos” star and Leo play a couple whose daughter has died. Gandolfini’s character is drawn to Stewart’s hooker and brings her home.
The film opens this fall, just in time for Oscar consideration.The trailer is on “The Runaways” DVD, due out on July 20 and the film will be shown twice during the upcoming Los Angeles Film Festival.
The fly in the ointment is the sudden resignation in May of Bob Berney from the indie film company he founded.

One of the hottest categories (literally) at Sunday’s 2010 MTV Movie Awards will be Best Kiss, and there’s plenty of lip-smacking smooches to drool over.
Kristen Stewart has two chances to pick up some Golden Popcorn in the coveted category, as she’s nominated for her kisses with Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways” and with Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
“Jersey Shore” starlet Snooki knows a thing or two about locking lips, but even she was shocked at the amount of action Kristen got onscreen. “And I’m the whore!” she told MTV News when asked which Kristen kiss was hottest.
She even predicted some trouble for the (rumored) “Twilight” couple if the “Runaways” kiss takes home the gold. “If Kristen wins with Dakota, Rob is going to be very jealous,” she said. “But, you know, maybe he’ll be a little excited!”
